If it matters I'm leveling up the mage as frost and the warlock as affliction. I'm vaguely aware of some class-based specialized addons (e.g., Necrosis for warlocks?), and that's my question: what UI/addon setup do you recommend for effective caster DPS in general and mage or warlock in particular? Leveling via grinding and questing isn't that hard with the rest bonus and BoA gear, but when I start using the dungeon finder for these alts I want to make sure that my UI does its part to contribute an adequate amount of DPS to the group. I've gotten a little fancy here and there, for example using Quartz to show my warlock's DoTs on my target and things like that, but I've never dug deeply into setting up an effective UI with supporting addons for caster DPS. On the infrequent occasions when I have fired up the mage or warlock, I have contented myself with targeting mobs by tabbing or clicking and then clicking on the appropriate Bartender buttons to DPS, with some keyboard mappings thrown in for good measure. Bartender handles my action bars, but I rarely use action bars as a healer, instead click-casting directly on players' Grid frames. Clique + Grid are the core of that, and I also use pieces of X-Perl for pet, target, ToT, focus, and target of focus. My holy priest's UI is of course geared to targeting fellow players and getting heals off quickly. Ironically, this will probably give me a little time to play with my alts, because while I won't be able to raid three nights a week for three hours each, I might be able to spend an hour here and there leveling up an alt. I'm going back to grad school in January and that will probably put the kibosh on raiding, at least until I ensure that I have the academics under control. I have putzed around with alts now and then, and the ones that have stuck are a level 30 mage and a level 25 warlock. Right now I spend most of my limited playing time raiding and doing the daily random PUG. My schedule has only given me time to have one level 80, a holy priest.
